Alan is an award-winning film and commercials director whose debut feature Woken, which stars Erin Kellyman (Star Wars Solo. The Green Knight), Maxine Peake ( Peterloo, Black Mirror) and Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans, Black Mirror) is currently doing the festival circuit.

‘With a genuine interest in the human condition, Friel makes films that linger in the memory long after viewing and his fine-art background lends a striking visual approach to his work’.

He has written for Bad Robot & Paramount Studios and has a number of projects in development, including two queer passion projects which he hopes to bring to the screen sometime soon.
